Debbigard features heavily on retirement build in Walsall

Brian Leadbetter and partner, George Conway, recently visited a Wilmott Dixon site in Walsall where Debbigards had been specified as part of the scaffolding build.

Carl (the Health and Safety Officer for the company) ensures that all sites within his jurisdiction feature the Debbigards as a matter of principle.

“The Debbigard system is now an inherent part of the way we manage our sites from a health and safety perspective. Our lads much prefer them over other debris guards and they’ve without doubt saved us from niggly compensation claims for torn clothes, injuries etc. We feel our sites are safer with the addition of the Debbigards”.

Project Manager, Neil Carter, claims there are further benefits:

“We have definitely saved money over the course of the last couple of years by specifying Debbigards with our scaffolding contracts. If we were ordering metal guards we would be paying out extra as they simply don’t last as long. It’s also a benefit to use the yellow and black guards as that reflects our corporate identity. You get a sense of pride when you see the colours of the brand up high on the scaffolding.”

Debbigard was invented by Brian Leadbetter in 2007 to solve the problem of injuries on scaffolding sites. It is the first and original plastic brick guard system and is designed and manufactured in the UK.
